They're also looking into collaborations with local brewers and musicians for possible events in the area. Although the owners are still discussing options and searching for partnerships, there's a strong possibility of some food truck gatherings, Briquelet Miller said. The family business is looking to use the space for possible events and local collaborations, too. "It's a draw for families and individuals just to go and hang out," Briquelet Miller said, "maybe walk the path with Briq’s in their hand." Briquelet Miller said he hopes that people will use the concession stand as they enjoy the rest of the Riverlife Park this summer. The stand will have three bathrooms for public use, as well as some tables and benches for outdoor seating.
The business hopes to operate seven days a week from 11 a.m. 1, with possible extensions or cuts depending on the weather. The concession stand, north of Wausau on Water but south of Bridge Street on the east side of the Wisconsin River, will be open seasonally from about May 1 until Oct.
Riverlife Park is an area on the water near the planned Riverlife Villages, a housing a retail complex, that includes a playground area for children. When the opportunity arose to have a stand by the river on the city's east side, owner Kevin Briquelet Miller said the business was all in, knowing the area is changing and will soon see new amenities, like the Riverlife apartments and retail.
